I’m almost certain that God supports the underdog. The last in line, the boy who gets picked after the disabled girl. Probably because God knows that the underdog is willing to ask for help. Cause only with God is it possible to achieve greatness to the glory of God.

But somehow, we could have this idea that God wants to spend time and help people who are achievers, clean-cut, beautiful and perfect. Somebody who made it from nothing on their brilliant wits and power. Maybe we believe that God shy away from our feeble stature in society or our faults or physical misalignments. Maybe God cannot use us because of all the bad decisions we’ve made. Will God look at a misfit like me? Does he want anything to do with a sinner? I know God is holy and sin cannot exist with Him. But MAYBE our perception of God is misaligned?

Enter Jesus, something good that came out of Nazareth. Almost like Charlize Theron that came from Benoni. God even chose an underdog town as hometown for His son.

Jesus became a mere man, not only to show us the way, but to make a way so we can come into the presence of the Father and be used by Him for His purpose and plans. Jesus executed the rescue plant as the underdog (beaten like a dog), when Israel expected a powerful king to rescue them. The Son of God died and rose to conclusively deal with sin, that which deceive us from an open relationship with our Creator. Jesus completely dealt with the thing (sin) which we still believe disqualify us from drawing near to Him.

Yes indeed, we can freely and boldly come to the Father and He will show us who we are and what our part is in the Kingdom of God. The Kingdom of God judge very differently from the kingdom of darkness. The kingdom of darkness looks at stature, outward appearance, wealth, power, might, manipulative influence etc, all for the purpose of myself. But in God’s Kingdom he requires obedience and humility for the GLORY of the one true King – Jesus Christ.

So, even if you feel like a worm. God chose the worm to raise up and make a difference in His Kingdom. For a worm know that its life will glorify the Creator through a process of dying to become a butterfly. Israel was a small insignificant tribe, that God chose for His redemption plan. When they relied completely on Him in obedience and devotion, things went exceptionally well for them. From them all the earth has been blessed. All God want is a humble, obedient heart – does not matter how you compare to the world.

For I, the Lord your God, hold your right hand; it is I who say to you, “Fear not, I am the one who helps you.” Fear not, you worm Jacob, you men of Israel! I am the one who helps you, declares the Lord; your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel. Isaiah 41:13-14 (ESV)

Let God use you, through humility and obedience to bless those around you. God has great plans for every believer in the true, everlasting Kingdom, and with Him you can make an everlasting difference.

Now to him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you blameless before the presence of his glory with great joy, to the only God, our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen. Jude 1:24-25 (ESV)

For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Hebrews 4:15-16 (ESV)
